We also have monthly challenges on Alter Native and the challenge this April was to use paint, something stamped, holes the project, string or wool and glue to make something. So to make my little notebook for my bag I painted some stiff card, stamped a design onto it, punched holes to add the wool binding, the only problem I had was the glue, well the masking tape I used to make the hinge has glue on it doesn't it ??????? Challenge completed, well almost, with a bit of cheating perhaps !!

A friend of mine is going through a very tough time at the moment with her health and I wanted to give her more than a card, something that would help cheer her up in the hard months to come. My talented friend Carroll had found a class to teach at Bristol Scrappers, the crop I go to each month, that was perfect for what I wanted. It is a book made up from cardboard CD cases, then covered and decorated. I was then able to make tags to slip into the pockets with inspirational and funny quotes printed on and decorated the inside with a few more quotes just for good measure. This way I hope she will know we are thinking of her all the time and will get better very soon.
I have taken part in a triptych swap on Alter Native, here is the triptych I have made which has gone to Linda and then I will receive another Triptych back from another player in the swap. I really enjoyed making this and am pleased with the result. Hope you like it Linda
This it the first month of my altered book ATC circle journal. The theme of Galefrays book is Time and so I chose "Time for tea ". As I had some beautiful teapot and tea cup stickers the whole page was built around them and then I added some quotes about teatime to finish the page off. The ATC is sticking out from behind the tablecloth. Hope she likes it

My Tai Chi teach is off to China to visit the village our Tai Chi family comes from, it is a small village high in the hills and so to wish her good luck bought her one of my favourite books "Snow Flower and the secret fan " and made her this bookmark to keep her place. She loved it !
