Homage to Hundretwasser

February on the AJC the muse was the Masters, our favourite artists. Well my favourite artist has to be Hundretwasser and I used a lot of his paintings as inspiration but Black girl, discovery in the kingdom of Toros was the main one.

    I created all the papers on my Geli plate then die cut the circles. The fairys, toadstools and words are from Tumblefish Studios.

    I am so pleased with this page I might have to make a larger one on a canvas for my wall.

Sherlock Holmes Cards

It is so good to be back in my craft room again!! Unfortunately I have been ill for over 5 weeks battling migraines which I never thought would go away but it looks like they have for now and it feels so good to be myself again!!!!! :)

    I have been palying with these fun Sherlock Holmes stamps from Creative Expressions talented Sam Poole. As my friends know I am a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan ( the real one not the film one, don't get me started on that subject ) so I loved this set!

AJC January pages

Here are 2 of last months journal pages for the caravan. I am late posting them and haven't been posting because of a horrible week long migraine so I was avoiding looking at a computer screen as much as poss. But here they are

this one was from one of the Be Mused cards we get, to do a nature diary. I must admit I did try to pull out another card several times but this one kept coming back so I thought it was meant to be. It did coincided with the Big Garden Bird Watch ( bird watch for an hour over the given weekend and record the highest number of each bird you see at any one time) here in the UK so I used my results to make my page.

For this the word of the week was Bright! So I went bright!

Art Journal Caravan 2014 page Rain Rain go away!

The first muse for our journal pages on the AJC this year is nature and as the weather has played such a big part of all our lives over the past few weeks I decided to go with that. The UK and the South West especially, which is where I live, has been battered by some of the worst storms for years. In fact Bristol had some flooding for the first time since the 1960's. Although the threat has now passed the endless rain and dark grey skies is starting to get even me down!

For the background I used distress paints then Washi tape borders. The Wellies are from a Cricut cartridge. The cloud is from Rosey Posey Studios and the star from Tumblefish studios. I then added the lettering with a paint pen and added Glossy accents to the drops and flowers.

Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar ball

One night while cleaning my teeth after working with the Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar papers for The Fruit Pixie a sudden bolt of inspiration popped into my head! Wouldn't the Bohemian Bazaar papers look wonderful as a paper ball! I must admit they do !

Art Journal Caravan 2014 begins

I had so much fun with the AJC last year I have decided to join again this year! So here is my first page, the traditional letter to yourself which includes this years word - Dream and symbol - a star.

ATC swap

Happy New Year everyone!  Now I can show you what I was working on before Christmas. First I took part in a mixed media ATC swap on the Art Journal Caravan. It was a 10 for 10 swap and I decided to do a snow/ winter theme for mine. I used my Gelly plate for the backgrounds and then used the Tumblefish Studio Winter Junque  digital kit for the main images adding a bit of glitter here and a gem there!

I received 10 lovely ATCS in return.

Reindeer glass charms

Steampunk Christmas card

As soon as I saw this Steampunk Christmas set from U-Mount that is available at The Fruit Pixie, I fell in love with this mechanical bird. A bit more red wing than robin but he is so smart in his top hat! Lets hope we get to see the red wings in the garden this year.

Owl Christmas card

Owls have been everywhere this year and I must admit I love them but then I am a bird girl!

This is such a fun stamp from Crafty Individuals available at the Fruit Pixie, he looks so grand in his crown and bow tie!

The background is the Newspaper Holly background stamp from U-Mount, also available from The Fruit Pixie.

Glitter Christmas gift box

As soon as I saw this new stamp from Crafty Individuals which is available from The Fruit Pixie, I knew I wanted to make a gift box.

I made the box from white card and attached the stamped image, stamped in blue and coloured using distresss ink, to the lid. I then covered it with the wonderful Stix-2 self adhesive sparkly acetate.

I also used the very versatile new embossing folder from Couture Creations called A Magical Time with some Coredinations whitewash card which I sanded back and chopped up to cover the sides of the box. I also used some of the dotty borders from the embossing folder to frame the top image.

Gilded angel card

This is such an elegant stamp available from the Fruit Pixie. I gilded her with the mega flakes from IndigoBlu and teamed her with some vintage music paper for the background.

Starry frame Christmas card

I love this new die frame from Crafty Individuals that is available from the Fruit Pixie, its so delicate and although great for Christmas could also be used for other things. I teamed it with some Black Market Paper  and one of the many images from the Crafty Individuals Christmas miniature pad. All available from The Fruit Pixie on-line shop.

UTEE Snowflake decorations

For my second set of tree decorations for the Fruit Pixie I made some snowflakes! I used Ultra Thick Crystals along with some of the mica flakes and Judikins Rox. I used a cookie cutter to pour the UTEE into. For more information on what I used and how I achieved it pop on over to the Fruit Pixie website.

Ultra thick Embossing clear tree decorations

I have been busy with family Christmas card making and shopping so it was nice to get back to the fun Christmas crafting.

     I have been making some tree decorations using Ultra Thick Embossing crystals for The Fruit Pixie. 

These were made by melting and pouring clear Ultra Thick into a cookie cutter positioned on top of a texture tread. Then coloured with Alcohol ink.

These look lovely in the window and will look beautiful on the tree with fairy lights behind them.

I loved working with this kit, there are so many wonderful images

the owl was one of my favourites so I made a box to show him off

and of course I am a typical British girl who loves her tea!!
