I made these boxes form the same template as the Halloween ones and filled them with gold coins for my German class pals and of course the Teacher Marlice who is amazing as she has actually taught me to speak German .

Witchey Poo doll
This year I wanted to make a witch doll, here she is, complete with broom stick made form branches from the garden and her black cat Spells.
I made the dolls body from a pattern from the net but the dress I made up myself, the first time I have ever done such a thing, have made lots of things from patterns but never cut one myself, so on the whole it turned out well.
I think she is a fan of Strictly come dancing, on in the UK at the moment, with all her sequins around her dress, I am sure this Saturday on Halloween she with be Tangoing around the bone fire with all her witchy friends and if they can't dance then I am sure they have a spell for that!!

Surf shack sign
My sister bought a summer house for the bottom of the garden for my nephews to use as a den, they have decorated it out in soft vintage surfing colours so I decided to make them a sign to hang in their window. Of course they didn't make it easy as they wanted a sign they could change to show when they where in and when they were out !
I used grey board , painted and stamped it then added a hibiscus flowers to give it the tropical island feel. I also decorated the back so when it was hung up you had something to look at. I was pleased with the result and they loved it too.

Metal picture
Mixed Media Mondays challenge for this week was to use metal or metallic, I bought some copper sheet last year to do this project as a very talented member of Altered design used the same technique back last year and I loved it so much I wanted to give it a try. You emboss metal sheet with the embossing folder and then colour with alcohol inks. All I need to get now is some chain to add to it so I can hang it up.

ipod cover
My wonderful husband bought me a new ipod at the weekend to replace my old one, a ipod mini which has had selective memory for almost 18 months. One day it plays the next time you switch it on it says there is no music there, so frustrating. Also the CD player in my craft room had been on the blink for the past year, I wonder if they have been talking? Anyway now I have a new ipod and dock for my craft room. I didn't want a case to cover the fantastic colour so I made one myself out of felt and using my owl template again, this time I added headphones for him, or ear muffs depending on what time of year it is !!!!

Colour ATC
This weeks theme for my Google group Altered designs was colour which was a good excuse to get out my water soluble wax crayons and make a background, then all it needed was an image and some colourful lettering and I was done. It also fitted with Think Monday Think ATCs challenge of mixed media, crayon, paper, card and ink ( around the edges of the image and ATC )
Halloween banner
The challenge this week on Mixed Media Monday was to make something round. As I am in a Halloween state of mind at the moment I decided to get my Nestibilities out and make a Halloween banner to add to my growing collection of Halloween decorations. I had also just bought the great skeleton die and it was a good excuse to try him out!

Pollys adventure
I stumbled across a great challenge site the other day- The Awfully big art adventure - this months challenge was to make a story in a box. As you know I love paper dolls and had had this idea for ages to have a paper doll who goes off on those beautiful traveling adventures of the early 1900's. Well meet Polly who is doing just that, in fact by the look of her trunk she has already been on a lot of great trips!
I had such fun with this, thank you Blue Peter of the 1070's and all the doll house makes you did, it helped a lot. I think I would of got it finished in half the time if I had not played with it so much along the way but then again I am still just a little girl inside!!
Congrats Chloe!

Family collages
I was given a lovely old battered suitcase a while ago by my Uncle full of old photos of the family, mainly my Grandparents on my Mothers side and of course my Mum and Uncle. I wanted to have the photos on the wall but as they are all fairly small, as they were in the 1940's and 50's I decided to make 3 collages using 3 of my favourite photos to go in a 3 picture frame bought at good old Ikea! One of the ideas was copied from a page I did for my A-Z journal last year, I loved the photo of my Grandad or Pop as we called him , stood by his car. The other is my Uncle serving in the Royal Medical corps in India during the 2nd world war, for a man who gets sea sick just looking at the sea that was quite a brave thing to do and the third is one of my Nanny and Mum and Uncle Ken enjoying an ice cream on a sea side holiday. The finished frame hangs in our lounge, I can't wait to show Mum and Uncle Ken and the rest of the family!
