Poetic Licence tag 8

Well here is this weeks Poetic Licence I made for my AJC tag book. Makes just about the usual amount of sence but so much fun to do :)

Steampunk book

Here is my Steampunk book made for the Fruit Pixie, who I proudly design for.    I made it from scratch using the Tim Holtz ring binders inside to hold the pages. All the products I used are available at the Fruit Pixie online shop and a photo tutorial is available on the Fruit Pixie blog.

AJC Poetic licence tag

Every week on the AJC we are given 12 words to form something you can journal. More often than not they never make proper sense but I think they are great fun to do and a challenge to fit them together with out using other words. You can use other words if you wish but I try not to if I can get away with it.  I didn't want to do a full page, because of the time it takes to complete a mixed media page, most of the other girls on the caravan are purely digital, so I chose to use a tag and basic collage techniques. Here is this weeks attempt.

Can Can journal page

This months port of call for the AJC is France. The film Can can has always been one of my favourite films and as the Paris of yesteryear is far more appealing to me than the Paris of today I decided to use one of Toulouse Lautrec's posters and work my mixed media journal page around that.

Mini card

This card is one I have made for The Fruit Pixie using The Craft UK die cut topper sheets, this time Mini.  It would be great for all those who love the London look that it popular at the moment or anyone who loves their cars.

As with all the Craft UK die cut sets you get many toppers but just one sheet of card so I have used multiple toppers to make this card and still have a couple left to use the left over cardstock to make a gift card for the present or a couple of very simple cards as well.

All products for this card are available from The Fruit Pixie online shop.

Little paper hearts

I love making these little hearts out of book pages. I drew around a template with my water colour crayons, painted it out with a water brush, stitched them and stuffed them, then cut them out. These would be great just to pop in your loved ones pocket on Valentines day just to say "I love you"

Sherlock Holmes journal page

For my second page for the AJC port of call - United Kingdom, I just had to do a Sherlock Holmes page. He has been my literary hero for many years now. I know all of Colan Doyle's stories, have seen all the old Hollywood films, TV series and radio plays. I even love the new British and American TV adaptations. The new films though..............just don't even go there!!

Anyway here is my page, a mixed media/ hybrid page which I had great fun creating.

Now onto the next port of call on our AJC journey around the world - France

Travel card and book

I have been working with the Craft UK travel topper set for the Fruit Pixie. I made this little 4x4 book using the cardstock and toppers from the set plus a matching piece of cardtsock to back the covers and make a couple of dividers. There are plenty of toppers to use to decorate your dividers. For the cover I used one of the toppers and the Tim Holtz typeset alphabet die and a cardstock alpha which I punched out with a small hole punch.

For a little extra touch I added a piece of ribbon and stitched a couple of The Fruit Pixies wonderful vintage buttons as a book mark.

With the remaining topper and border I made a card to go with the little book. I used a Craft UK 6x6 card blank and covered it with a piece of the Crafthouse press vintage map paper which went beautifully with the theme.

Gardening box card

I have been working with the new Craft UK collage sheets for The Fruit Pixie. I began with the gardening set and made this box card. The drawer could be filled with gardening goodies and can make an inexpensive gift look expensive and imaginative.  The set comes with a sheet of the toppers and borders and a really good heavy piece of matching cardstock.

Hearts

I made these two soft hearts for The Fruit Pixie using the Cosmic Shimmer sprays to colour calico, seam binding and the Tim Holtz trims. I then cut out and stitched it into a heart shape and embellished them.

The pink one I used some paper flowers and one of the many lovely keys The Fruit Pixie sells plus one of the cute tags form the Fruit Pixies pound shop.

The green one I scrunched up the fabric and then simply used a couple of the buttons from the Bo Bunny timepiece collection which I backed with some of the Tim Holtz trimms

Everything apart from the calico and flowers is available from The Fruit Pixie online shop http://www.thefruitpixie.co.uk/index.asp

Wedding Ann card

It was my parents wedding Anniversary this week so of course I made them a card. I used the Joanna Sheen Dancing with shadows cd rom to create this card. I cut the circle in the front out with a Spellbinders die, the rosettes are made using the Tim Holtz dies as is the banner too. I must admit I was very pleased with it!
