Design team challenge

Ok now I am being very brave, Altered pages have put out a call for new design team members and I have decided to have a go. There will be 4 challenges over the next few weeks that you have to submit a project. The first one was to alter 5 playing cards. Here is my little project, an altered playing card book using the "School is silly" collage sheet. Keep you fingers crossed for me over the next 3 weeks.

Ten Two Studios 5th Anniversary swap

I saw the Ten Two 5th anniversary ATC swap and decided to have a go. You downloaded their collage sheets and had to make 5 ATCs using the images. Here are mine. They went off in the post today, cross fingers that they get there in time.

Out of action

I won't be able to add things to my blog for a few weeks as I am back in to hospital for my 4th operation on my ankle as soon as we come back from Austria so be patient and pop back again in a while to see what I have been up to, thanks.

DVD album

Now I have a laptop we can take a few things to watch on it on holiday. Of course they can't just go in the case they have to have a nice case to take them in. I just a few of the plastic CD sleeves you can get with a grey board cover then used my Bind it all to bind them all together.

St Wolfgang Journal

We are off to Austria on Saturday to St Wolfgang and as usuall I had to make a Journal to write while I am there.

Zetti style

This weeks theme with altered design was Zetti. I have loved the Zetti look for a while but not had a go myself so I was keen to get going with this weeks theme. Zetti style puts lots of different body parts to make up a Zetti person or creation, now I am not a reader of magazines so I did find it a bit of a challenge but with the few free mags you get at the supermarket and generous people who put their collage sheets out for you to use on the internet I managed to make my Zetti creation.

Sidmouth album

Before I found the wonderful world of mixed media I was an avid scrapbooker but since I have fallen in love with MM I have really struggled with my scrapbooking . I would forget about it but myself and Hubby are very keen photographers and so have loads of photos I want to create with. Simple you might think, just use your paints etc to create an album but I have found that VERY hard. This time though I was determined to have a go, its not all the way there yet but I am pleased with the result, next time I can jump that little bit further into my love of mixed media. So here is what I created Sidmouth is a beautiful old seaside town on the Devon coast, we love it there and have visited often but this was a holiday for a very special occasion!

The Lym Regis page didn't scan very well as its all 3d at the bottom using molding paste covered in sand, with shell buttons and beads. My favourite is the relax page. Great book too!

book pages ATC

This weeks theme on Altered design is to use book pages on your ATC. I had found a old reckoning book from when the UK went from old money to £ and pence, so I used a page from that to make this ATC

By the sea ATC

This months lottery theme with altered design is seaside so here is my addition the the lottery, now all I have to do is keep my fingers crossed!!

Learning to felt

I have been teaching myself to felt, needle felting and wet felting, here are 2 little purses I have made, the grey has a pink inside and the grey one a pink inside. The design on the front is needle felted on the beads added. I still have a lot to learn, getting the same thickness on both sides is the next problem I plan to tackle, but the are not too bad for the the first and second try.

50th Birthday card

As I said before my hubby turned 50 while we were on holiday, he is as keen on music as I am on crafting so it had to be a card something to do with music, well here is what I came up with, a card with a Jimmy Hendrix paper doll and then an electric guitar and case!! He really liked them!

Wedding ATC

This week the theme on Altered design is wedding and Romance, I used the free digi sheet to make 2 beautiful parrots very happy!

Sunny holiday

I have just got back from a weeks of sun in Sidmouth, Devon. We had a great week during which my Hubby turned 50!! Lots of sun, deckchairs and ice cream. Had a great time but missed my birds and of course my craft room!

House swap

Although House swap sounds like some terrible TV program it is much more exciting! Altered Design the Google group I belong to have organised a 2 for 2 house swap.The Houses had to be no bigger than 4,5 x 4.5 inches and had to include paint, paper and stamps. Unfortunately I didn't read the part about it having to have paint , paper and stamping so the first too, the School house and House of letters I will be keeping for myself and it did mean I could make 2 more, that I had planned to do any way. So I made Farm House and Fashion house, these will go into the swap.

Free collage sheets

OK, I promised you some free digi collage sheets from Altered pages ( link in my fave websites) so here is the first one. What you need to do is email me your email address then I will pass them on to Altered pages, who have a HUGE number of different collage sheets, I was amazed when I saw how many they have! Altered Pages will then email you the sheet. I have another 3 to give away this month so keep your eyes peeled!!

Fun with socs

Since Christmas I have been having great fun making creations form socs. I had a couple of books for Christmas and again for Valentines day. Bernard, the grey creature, made out of old walking socs, was made for Andrew on Boxing day then I made Delia, pink socs that were so uncomfortable to wear, for myself. The wonderful Cheshire cat, made form new socs, I made for my cat mad friend Sue for her Birthday and have others not yet photographed or waiting to be finished, its great fun and each creature is so individual as every soc different !

Famous Face ATC

This weeks theme for Altered design was famous faces. Carry Grant is my Hollywood heart throb, I just love all his films and as he was born in Bristol, England where I was also born and live, he was the only person to do!!

The Moving Book

My parents are about to move any day now and so I thought I would make them a book they could keep all those numbers and measurements you need when you move. The images are from my new Polkadoodles CDrom, which I thought was soo cute.

Altered playing card

For the swap this week with my Google group we had to alter a playing card. I had a couple of Chinese playing cards so went with that theme, as you can see.

Oriental ATC

I had this one all ready to go Just before I became ill but missed the deadline for the Oriental weeks swap. Didn't really mind as I love how it came out so its a keeper!

Party Time ATC

Haven't been at all creative the past 3 weeks almost as I have been unwell but I am so glad I didn't miss this weeks ATC swap with my Google group as its theme was pointy hats. Just love playing with pointy hats, who wouldn't!!

Butterfly ATC

This weeks theme with Altered Designs was an open theme so I decided to have a go with my new Artchicks Artblast playing cards I had for Christmas. I only needed to use 3 suites as I had to make an ATC so the type of art you make suite wasn't needed. I ended up with watercolours, they medium you use, a leaf that I interpreted as nature as the theme and pink, cream and brown as the colours to include. Here is what I came up with.
