Alice in wonderland cards

 I have been playing with the lovely Alice in Wonderland stamps by IndigoBlu sold by The Fruit Pixie. I have also tried the Cosmic shimmer chalk misters for the first and really liked them. Olympic medal booklet

As England win their first Gold medal I have just added my blog post for Altered Pages, a little booklet to keep tally of all your countries medals and a keepsake for this Olympics here in London. Enchanted family album

As soon as I saw the new papers from the Craft time Enchanted line I knew they would go well with the beautiful cabinet cards I have of my family. I made the album from scratch using a binding method I have recently come across called "Stack the deck". The inventor of the book binding used envelopes for her pages but I thought of using the Woodware Cd sleeves The fruit Pixie sales instead. Magic never ending card

Its my nephews birthday this week and he loves his magic, dose amazing card tricks and now he wants to learn more. Part of his present was a how to DVD for new tricks  so to continue the theme I have made him a magic never ending card, magic themed gift bag and have covered a notebook for him to use to take notes whilst learning his new tricks. All the images come from a digi kit from Tangie.

Dr Who card

 I made this card for a young friend of the family's birthday who likes Dr Who. It was such a fun card to make and was made so easy with Tangies  Love of the doctor digi kit, just love those daleks!!

Travel the world mini book kit

 I have a new kit available from Altered Pages. This time a mini book I have designed to incorporable windows to show a sneaky peek of the pages to come. The kit includes the book, papers and plenty of travel themed collage sheets you can use to tell of your travel dreams or use to embellish your own travel photos. Catching butterflies art journal page

It feels like ages since I could create in my Art Journal with the caravan, just too many things to create and too little time to create in! Tangie gives us such wonderful words each week to inspire us, along with lots of other things but its the words I love. This one - apolaustic which means addicted to enjoyment was perfect for me to get back on the caravan with. I loved creating this background just done with acrylic paint and my fave stencil. The images are from a Tangie digi kit and just fitted perfectly. Great to be back with the caravan again!!

Olympic record book

Now for all those who are visiting from another planet you might not know the Olympics are only a few weeks away now. I must admit to say I am not that bothered about sport is an understatement, except downhill skiing of course, but I am trying to get into the Olympic spirit. One big problem with getting into a crafting Olympic spirit is the very strict and over the top copyright that is on absolutely everything you could possibly think of to do with the Olympics but as this is NOT for sale and is just to give the lovely customers of The Fruit Pixie an idea of the sort of thing they can do, I hope I am OK.

  So here is my Olympic record book for the 2012 Olympics. It was made from a bare chipboard tab album and used the Ruby Rock it Vintedge collection paper pack all available from the Fruit Pixie. For full instructions go to the Fruit Pixie blog and Facebook page.

  The plan is to write down the main medals, there are so many sports, on the Gold, silver and bronze pages

  Then a pocket at the back to store any keepsakes I pick up along the way. If you are going to watch a sport at the Olympics why not use this as your diary of the big day.

Paris mini book

Altered Pages have so many wonderful collage sheets that sometimes us designers get carried away and use several  in one project. For my blog post this week I decided to just use one collage sheet to make a project to prove how you only need 1. So here is my little Paris accordion book. I have been itching to play with my Expression 2 machine for ages so took the chance to have a play to make Dad a birthday card. Images are from the Art Deco cartridge.

Holiday pics

I thought you might like to see just a few of the photos we took whilst on holiday in Seefeld, Austria. Both Andrew and I are keen photographers so we so take rather a lot of photos but these give you a taste of our holiday.

Chunky idea keeper

Well, this was something  new for me. I would say I can sew, I was taught at school and my Mum always made all our cloths as we grew up so I can handle a needle and a sewing machine but this took those skills in a different direction. I did Rea Missigman Chunky Idea Keeper on line course and loved every minute! Its a video course taking you step by step through dying the covers to stitching the flowers and every page of the book. I had always been judged by how straight my stitching was so to let myself go and stitch in a wiggly line was great! I just loved it and am now addicted to decorative sewing.

   So here is my finished book, all packed ready to take with me on holiday, which was the reason for making it as I always take something to feed my arty addiction while on holiday. There is plenty of room for pens etc, a big pocket at the back and pockets throughout the book for paper and blank ATCs. The page with the pin cushion is to pin bits and bobs and ideas.

I have been playing with the wonderful Imagination Crafts Magi Boss Chunky Mother of Pearl powder and the Melt Art Texture Treads Mod Circles, both available at The Fruit Pixie and made this little pendant. Holiday journal

We are off to sunny Austria in a few days and as usual I have made my holiday diary/journal. This time I have used the stack the deck binding method, the first time I have used it and its a brilliant way to make quick books. All the papers, tags and embellishments are from the American crafts Campy trails digi kit and the book covers are made from pizza box card. I have made plenty of tags to journal on and then the pockets to add any bits and pieces I collect along the way. I must admit I do love this kit. Can't wait to get there now!!

Greek wedding anniversary card

A friend of mine asked me to make a card for their friends who were renewing their vows after 5 years of marriage. They were wed on Kos, as the bride is Greek, and so they wanted a Greek feel to the card. So this is what I designed. Blue and white theme for the Greek flag, the map of Kos and names and dates, 5 gems for each year they have been married and the word congratulations in Greek. Luckily my friend speak, reads and writes Greek so she could send me the word I needed, what an amazing looking language it is but I think I will stick to German!    My friend loved the card, I hope the couple did too and all went well on their special day.
