Washi tape notebook and pencil set

The Fruit Pixie has some lovely new Washi tape in stock and when I came across this great creative idea on Pinterest I just had to have a go. Washi tape covered pencils!! Yes they do sharpen too, well they would do if you hadn't bought cheap Asda ones that were all split inside so they tried to split apart when you sharpened them in the sharpener!!

I also made myself a notebook to match my pencils too

They make a nice set together.
If you would like to know how I did it then pop over to the Fruit Pixie blog to see my detailed post - http://thefruitpixie.blogspot.co.uk/

To see the range of tapes then go over to the Fruit Pixie shop here - http://www.thefruitpixie.co.uk/washi-tape-625-c.asp

Stamp storage idea

The Fruit Pixie has a lovely new stamp line, Lavinia Stamps and so I needed a way to keep my stamps together ready to be used. So I have made them a nice new home in my usual storage trick, a handmade binder using plastic CD pockets. I have used this idea so many times in the past and it still dose the trick!!

These are lovely fantasy stamps along with cute zentangle stamps. Not my usual style but there is just something about these stamps that I really like. I used some of them to make the cover, just covered cereal box card

I then stamped the images onto card and laminated them

Each card has its own CD pocket that is punched and then bound into the book with seambinding

and closed with a ribbon.

You can find detailed instructions on the Fruit Pixie blog -http://thefruitpixie.blogspot.co.uk/

The stamps are available from the fruit Pixie shop - http://www.thefruitpixie.co.uk/

Marbled eggs

A while ago I bought a marbling kit, it takes a bit of preparation and I did have a few snags, our water is still to hard for the water bath even after going through our filter and I don't think I mixed the paint up thick enough but I know how to fix these glitches so next time it should be fine. Even taking these problems into account I still was amazed at the finished projects, I marbled some polystyrene eggs and some flat wooden eggs for my Easter tree and I thin they look rather good!

Hare collage piece

I have been playing with my Gelli plate and some dry wax paper or Delli paper available in nice small amounts - 15 sheets for £1 at the wonderful Fruit Pixie online shop http://www.thefruitpixie.co.uk/wax---glassine-paper-555-c.asp where I am the design Elf!

This collage was made using the wonderful book pages from the Fruit Pixie and then I stamped the hare stamps onto my printed delli paper and cut them out, added some distress ink to the edges to finish.

I also made this card with the printed delli paper which I put over some book paper. I then stamped the hare stamp and coloured their crowns. The corners are a Crafty Individuals starry frame which I cut into 4 to make the corners, I also used some Washi tape, the blue spot to add an extra bit or colour.

All items are available from The fruit Pixie, except the stamps.

Lavinia stamps fairy home card

The Fruit Pixie has just started stocking Lavinia Stamps, a British company who make fantasy style stamps. Now I am not usually drawn to Fantasy style stamps but I really likes these.  They have made their own stamping  DVD that demonstrates scene stamping. I have done a full review on the Fruit Pixie website -http://thefruitpixie.blogspot.co.uk/

After watching the video I had to have a go myself. Here is the card I came up with after watching the DVD

Both the Lavinia DVD and stamps are available from The Fruit Pixie online shop http://www.thefruitpixie.co.uk/lavinia-stamps-626-c.asp

Homage to Hundretwasser

February on the AJC the muse was the Masters, our favourite artists. Well my favourite artist has to be Hundretwasser and I used a lot of his paintings as inspiration but Black girl, discovery in the kingdom of Toros was the main one.

I created all the papers on my Geli plate then die cut the circles. The fairys, toadstools and words are from Tumblefish Studios.

I am so pleased with this page I might have to make a larger one on a canvas for my wall.

Sherlock Holmes Cards

It is so good to be back in my craft room again!! Unfortunately I have been ill for over 5 weeks battling migraines which I never thought would go away but it looks like they have for now and it feels so good to be myself again!!!!! :)

I have been palying with these fun Sherlock Holmes stamps from Creative Expressions talented Sam Poole. As my friends know I am a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan ( the real one not the film one, don't get me started on that subject ) so I loved this set!

This wonderful stamp set is available at http://www.thefruitpixie.co.uk/

AJC January pages

Here are 2 of last months journal pages for the caravan. I am late posting them and haven't been posting because of a horrible week long migraine so I was avoiding looking at a computer screen as much as poss. But here they are

this one was from one of the Be Mused cards we get, to do a nature diary. I must admit I did try to pull out another card several times but this one kept coming back so I thought it was meant to be. It did coincided with the Big Garden Bird Watch ( bird watch for an hour over the given weekend and record the highest number of each bird you see at any one time) here in the UK so I used my results to make my page.

For this the word of the week was Bright! So I went bright!

Art Journal Caravan 2014 page Rain Rain go away!

The first muse for our journal pages on the AJC this year is nature and as the weather has played such a big part of all our lives over the past few weeks I decided to go with that. The UK and the South West especially, which is where I live, has been battered by some of the worst storms for years. In fact Bristol had some flooding for the first time since the 1960's. Although the threat has now passed the endless rain and dark grey skies is starting to get even me down!

For the background I used distress paints then Washi tape borders. The Wellies are from a Cricut cartridge. The cloud is from Rosey Posey Studios and the star from Tumblefish studios. I then added the lettering with a paint pen and added Glossy accents to the drops and flowers.

Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar Envelope Album

Here is an envelope Album I made for The Fruit Pixie using the wonderfully colourful Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar. For instructions on how I made this please visit The Fruit Pixie blog -http://thefruitpixie.blogspot.co.uk/
